The MISSION of COMOTA is to build, maintain, and promote sustainable natural surface trail use near and around the Columbia, Missouri area. Est. 2018

Our COMOTA sawyers and swampers have stayed super Our COMOTA sawyers and swampers have stayed super busy this summer and especially so these past 10 days. They have braved the heat and terrain clearing downed trees at Woodpecker Hollow, Cedar Creek Trail, Smith Creek Trail, Finger Lakes State Park and Rock Bridge Memorial State Park! 👏

Keep an eye out for their handiwork as you enjoy the trails this week. As always if you encounter any volunteers or parks staff out working please give them room and make sure they see you before passing.

These volunteers have spent hours of their own time getting certified, keeping their equipment in good shape, and make the effort to keep our trails open and safe for all trail users. By clearing downed trees off the trail this ensures the trail stays in the place it was intended and designed. It also keeps trail users from creating social paths that disturb native vegetation.
