The MISSION of COMOTA is to build, maintain, and promote sustainable natural surface trail use near and around the Columbia, Missouri area. Est. 2018

Heads up to all fellow trail users. It will be a h Heads up to all fellow trail users. It will be a hot but dry week and a lot of local trails are ready to enjoy.

Some popular local trail conditions updates-

Moon Loop trail- grass section mowed yesterday and string trimmed two weeks ago, great shape

Gans Creek Recreation Area- Disco ridge trail is great shape, trimmed and mowed. Side Hustle is also good to ride thanks to park staff.

Rock Bridge Memorial State Park- string trimmed in last couple weeks, bottoms trimmed, and trail tread is good after recent events

Finger Lakes State Park Kelley Branch Trail- string trimmed one week ago, all trees cleaned up, and staff mowed bottoms. Trail is ready for trail users!

Grindstone Nature Area- most trails strong trimmed last weekend. No trees down and great shape

Rhett’s Run- starting to get wooly in a handful of sections but overall still great. Volunteers will start trimming there in next couple weeks.

Woodpecker Hollow- starting to get wooly, will be up next for string trimming.

Cedar Creek Trail/Smith Creek MTNF- very overgrown at the moment with some downed trees. Volunteers plan to start getting it ready for Fall use in August.

Thank you to all volunteers and parks staff for keeping our local trails open in the summer months despite the rainy weather. It’s a beautiful green jungle out there and we appreciate all the hard work! 💪
