The MISSION of COMOTA is to build, maintain, and promote sustainable natural surface trail use near and around the Columbia, Missouri area. Est. 2018

Exciting volunteer training opportunity! We stil Exciting volunteer training opportunity! 

We still have 1 spot for the initial training and 2 for the recertification!

COMOTA is offering US Forest Service (USFS), Chainsaw Initial Certification (16 hours) and Recertification (8 hours). Volunteers help keep local trails safe by removing fallen trees. This certification provides professional instruction to safely operate chainsaws on trails.
Why Certification Matters
Certification ensures that you possess the necessary skills, safety knowledge, and hands-on experience to contribute effectively to trail projects. Training opportunities are offered periodically, and we maintain a list of interested volunteers to inform about upcoming sessions.
Requirements:
• Current CPR and First Aid certifications are required (COMOTA to assist with obtaining)
Training Details:
• Instructor: Dan Patterson, USFS
• Dates: April 17–19 (backup: May 15–17)
• Location: Englewood Community Clubhouse, Englewood, MO https://maps.app.goo.gl/TdacRmtxnUHa7ZWL6

• Time: 830 AM – 6 PM, lunch provided

Commitments:
• Attend USFS Certification

• Sign Volunteer Agreement
• Join at least three sawyer outings annually
